Peter Likes Baseball

Thanks for stopping by VeggieTales Review! Whether you're a fruit, a vegetable or something else, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

So, this past weekend I finally made it out on the field with some of my fruity friends to do battle royal on the old diamond with the Gourds.  It was a valiant game—for all of the first few pitches.

We were squashed 32-5.

But still, I like baseball and softball, and I’m not doing too bad with the fantasy variety of the game.  Well, some of my baseball picks are on the DL right now, which isn’t doing well for my team’s balance.

Personalizing Gift Cards

Ever have trouble finding what to get that person that has everything?

One of the newest forms of getting something (but not “getting something”) is by getting gift cards.  It seems that every store has them.  I get a chuckle out of going to StuffMart and seeing a whole wall of cards for everything from Burger Bell to the Food Factory sitting there ready for the buying.

The Heavens Declare

Just last night, Penny Peach and I sat down to watch Indescribable, a DVD sermon that took a look at the Heavens to show us just how big God is and how small we are!  It’s amazing the things that you can see—even with the naked eye.

Fortunately, we have many different things now to see at a distance.  Everything from binoculars to telescopes we can use to see things relatively near to very far away.

And then there’s Night Vision—something I’ve always wished I had when I go camping with the family.  Or when there’s a noise in the house and you’re not sure what it was and you’d rather sneak up on it than have it sneak up on you!

In any case, having a telescope is a great way to teach your little veggies about the stars and the Creator and His amazing love.

Insuring The Future for Your Little Vegetables

We are not guaranteed another day—it’s a sad fact brought to light once again with the passing of the likes of Tim Russert.  People take for granted the blessing and miracle each day is, and that allows us to have false confidence about what tomorrow will hold.

If you don’t have it already, you need insurance.  Death is one of the things that for sure in this world, and you need to be prepared.  The other thing is that the unexpected will happen.

Take, for example, Insurance for Vans.  Bob the Tomato is thankful for his Van insurance.  He was out that one night on the way to the Twippo concert when his tire got blown out by a porcupine and he ended up careening down a hill into a tree stump.

What you didn’t see was that Bob was able to call a tow truck that came by and took his van to the shop, but Bob didn’t have the right kind of insurance, so he had to take a loan out in order to do—a loan that he’s still paying on today.

You never know what’s ahead—and you should be prepared for those big expenses.  So take a tip from me, Peter Plum, get some insurance—do some comparison shopping.  The money that you put into it today may be what’s needed in the uncertain times that come.
